Product Description mamaRoo by 4momsThe only seat that moves up and down, and side to side. We've never seen a parent vibrate their child like a bouncy seat and hardly seen one swing a baby around like a swing. BUT, we've seen thousands of parents scoop their little ones up in their arms and bounce and sway. And that's what the mamaRoo does. It moves like you do.5 Unique MotionsSome seats claim two motions, but really, they just turn their seat to the side. When we say unique we mean it. 5 different motions. 5 ways

| Customer Reviews: I love this swing, but my baby boy begs to differ September 7, 2010 Petz Antunes (Rio de Janeiro, BR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The hole purpose of this swing was to help me make my 6 month old baby boy fall asleep faster. As soon as it arrived I assembled it (30 minutes tops) and tried it out. My baby liked it at first, but after 20 min got annoyed and started to cry. I've tried it with the sounds on, the sounds off, even tried my ipod playlist but nothing, after 20 or 15 min all he wanted was to be pulled off the chair. I think it's because the speed isn't that fast, so the swing doesn't really feel like a "car ride" for example or like me swinging him in my arms. I guess he'll have to stick to the God given swing, my arms.
Leo's thrown August 31, 2010 C. Marshall We had this mamaroo waiting for our son and first sat him in it when he was just a few day's old. He's two months now. I agree with all the other reviewers who have said this is too slow. It's completely true. He would definitely prefer the motion of a traditional swing (I am guessing) when he is fussy. So we have to pick him up when he is fussy, but he loves this machine . He especially loves the womb sound and he sleeps very well in it, so it must be comfortable for him. It's his little home away from us. I can even set him down and he will play and look around by himself and he is very content and feels safe and happy in this thrown as we call it. Half the time we don't even bother putting the motion on. And he can't tell the difference between any of the different movements. It's just the sound and the size and shape that he likes. The ball mobile isn't important either. He'd much rather look out the window or at a ceiling fan. I would only give it 4 stars except for we use this thing all the time; and I think a traditional swing wouldn't be as comfortable for him.
Wanted to Like! August 17, 2010 BGMom We really wanted to like this swing but, when it arrived our son was 4 weeks and it doesn't sooth our newborn. We have used it for over a week and he just doesn't like it. If he is sleepy or asleep and we put him in it he wakes up and cries. If he is upset already it doesn't sooth him at all. No matter his mood at the time, whenever he is placed in the chair he gets fussy and stays fussy. He has never been in another swing so, I don't believe its that it is too slow... I don't think it goes in the directions he likes. The [...] review says that it vibrates (which it does not) and it does not swing forwards and backwards. You have to pause it and manually move the swing to tilt the chair. The chair has very smooth movements and the white noises my son does like. Additionally, the mp3 hook up is great! In the end we will have to return this purchase :(

Could be A LOT better August 4, 2010 DST 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have pretty much the same complaints as the other 3 star reviewers but I gave it two stars because I am that dissapointed in it.
- When baby is small, the recline positions aren't great.
- Can't be swaddled in the mamaRoo (without creative adjustments by the owner) which is crucial for a colicky/reflux baby. Speed options need to increase.
- Motion options are great but too slow for a fussy baby - if asleep, he goes right in, if awake he lasts about 10 minutes, if fussy there is no calming him
- The fabric they use on this is similar the fabric used in most diaper bags - you know, slick, not soft or comforting, feels waterproof like a tent or something.
- Where is the cozy head rest on this for infants? My son is strong enough to hold his head but for a newborn? There is no way I would put mine in there before he could hold his head up and by then he would probably be too big for it. I have considered rigging my own but who wants to go through that when they just paid $200 for a swing.
-LCD backlight doesn't time out just stays on while the machine is powered on.
-Mobile hangs really low and doesn't move on it's own, he likes it for a little while and then seems to get over stimulated or maybe he just doesn't like the swing.
- I wouldn't really categorize it as a "bouncer" it's too slow to really bounce and it doesn't vibrate in any of the modes, not even car ride.
PROS (if these are your only requirements god bless you and your baby because he/she must be the most pleasant baby of all time. Lucky you!!)
- small footprint
- slick looking
- easy to put together
- mp3 attachment
- plug powered
Honestly, I'm shocked this was made by 4 mothers and none of them thought the above were crucial components of a baby swing/"bouncer". I am giving this thing a full week and then it's getting exchanged for something faster, more comforting, and with better recline. Although reading my review I should probably just take it back today, sigh.
